moving abroad with my children

I am getting married to my canadian partner and myself and my three children then want to move out to canada as a family. My two youngest children's father informed me i would need his signature to take our children out of the country, they were born out of wedlock in 2001 and 2002, myself and their father have lived apart nearly all of their lives. Do I require his consent and if so what is my position if he refuses. Thank you

Re: moving abroad with my children

All persons with parental responsibility or a court must consent before children are removed permanently from the UK. Thus is your eldest child's father has parental responsibility he must give written consent to removal to Canada. If this is refused you will need to make an application to the Court.
