Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

Moving Abroad with Children

I have 2 children by my ex parnter (we were never married) We have no legal set up for access or custody. I have an opportunity to move abroad. Do I need his permission? He is named on both birth certificates but only sees them once a month. I have had to fight for financial support. He doesnt contribute in any other way financially or emotionally to them. My move would enhance my childrens life and mine. CanI be forced to stay here just because he may not like the fact that we move??

Re: Moving Abroad with Children

You must obtain the father's consent to remove the children from the UK to live permanently overseas if he has parental responsibility for the children. If he does not have parental responsibility then his consent is not required. Should he withhold his consent where required the leave of the court must be obtained

If you need further help and assistance please let me know.
