Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

My ex partner and I have had our house on the market for 12 months, I moved out after 6 months and we rented the property out. The tenant has since left the property and my ex partner has now changed the locks and refused to give me a key and is also refusing to compromise on the future of the property. He wants to leave it empty and pay half the mortgage each, which I cant afford to do, until it sells. He will not reason with me and it seems that I have no say in the future of my property or have access to it. Please advise what is the best thing for me to do

This would seem to be the classic circumstances where it is necessary to obtain an order for sale from the court with an order that you have control of the sale. It is quite unacceptable for him to refuse you entry to a property which you jointly own and this could also be subject to the application to the court.

If you need assistance in applying for an order for sale this can be obtained at
