me and my partner have a young child, and i do not get on with my parents my parents want to see my child but on a number of times they have let her down so i have stopped them from seeing her.
They now say there ar going to a solicitor to get GRANPARENTS RIGHTS IS THIS TRUE CAN THEY GET TO SEE MY CHILD WHEN I WISH THEM NOT TO

I am unsure why you believe that you have the right to deny your child the love and support of grandparents. It is well established that it is in a child's best interests to have regular and proper contact with grandparents and the court will have little hesitation in ensuring that this takes place. Accordingly your parents will obtain a contact order and if you fail to allow the contact ordered there are sanctions which include imprisonment and removal of your child.
The sad fact that you do not get on with your parents is quite irrelevant to the rights of your child to contact with family members. My advice is that you avoid further family disharmony by agreeing to allow your child to spend time with his or her grandparents.
