Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

relationship break down

I live with my partner and our young daughter, this is our second home. we've been together six years. both houses had been under his name as i'm a full time mum. But i'm sure i did simething stating i live here. We're in a middle of a break up.He claims he can throw me out, as this is his house. As i'm a housewife i clearly rely on his income. I feel i'm stuck. Do i have any rights? what can i do? We're not married.

Re: relationship break down

I am afraid that as you are not married the law provides scant protection and few rights as to maintenance or occupation of a family home. That said however there are instances where cohabitees are able to make a claim on property owned by a former partner and if instructed we will be happy to consider and advise on these.
