Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

Hi there, I am splitting up from my partner of over 5 years and would likea question answered please.we bought our house off her mum and dad whenthey moved to spain.i had a house before we got together which I sold andthe 70,000 profit I made on that I put down as the deposit on our housetogether.when I sold my place I was then moving into a fully furnishedplace as it was her parents so everything I had at mine I did not need so Igave it all away and moved in with nothing.could you please tell me where Istand.she says she wants exactly half of everything baring in mind shestarted out with nothing as she lived there with her parents,I just thinkit was only right that I should at least get back the 70,000 that I putdown ,I mean I think it would be unfair for her to walk away with all thatand I walk away with less than I started with baring in mind that we havemade equity on our house now so she would get half of that anyway. p.s we are not married i just would like to know where i stand.

Much is going to depend upon what was intended and agreed between you when you purchased the property and agreed to live there together. To advise it is essential to consider all the detail and we would need to take full instructions from you. If you need this help and advice please let us know.
