Legal Question in Family Law in United Kingdom

Is there anything I can do to stop my ex changing my daughters school?

I have just started a court case with regards to me obtaining parental responsibility and contact order for my daughter.

My daughter lives with me(DAD) and my wife (STEP MUM) 4 nights a week, and she stays at her mums 3 nights a week, i also have her child benefit number , I take my daughter to and from school everyday. When her mum wants her i take her there. Her mum has never made a effort to pick her up she lives 5 miles away.Social services have been involved with my daughters mother and have offered us 100 % support. My ex is threatening to change my daughters school before i can obtain parental responsibility is there anything i can do to stop or postpone this.It would not be in my daughters best interest it is very unstable at my daughters mums house , and changing school would devastate my daughter.

Please don't come back with any pro mum comments every situation is different and even my daughters mother will agree she's not been a good mum. I would really just appreciate an answer to my question.

Also my ex and I were never married and I am not on my daughters birth certificate.

unfortunately we have only just started a court case to get parental responsibility and these things take time. I live in u.k

You will probably need to ask the Court to make a Specific Issues Order concerning your daughter's schooling. However the issue of the school she attends although critical is only part of the larger picture and a Court will wish to deal with PR, contact, and everything concerning your daughter's welfare at the same time. I will be happy to advise further if instructed or there is much valuable information to help on our website.
