Whet rights does he have to my son

My ex partner and myself had achild who is now nearly nine my expartner signed the birth certificate and left 2 months later saying he did not want to be a dad any more,i met my husband soon after and we married when my son was 1 years my son knows know different.My husband has brought him up from 1 years and is using our new family name,my ex partner has been asked timt again to agknowledge his child but refuses. I have recently put in for child support. My question is will my ex be able to demand to see my son after all this time and will i have to agree. We were hoping to get my husband to adopt my son officially next year but we are now both worried incase my ex trys to destroy our family

Although your former partner signed your son's birth certificate nine years ago it would not seem that he will have parental responsibility. Providing that this is the case and that you have sole parental responsibility you should consider entering into a parental responsibility agreement with your husband which will share that parental responsibility with him. Adoption is not appropriate. A suitable parental responsibility agreement package is available for download from the Legal-Zone website.

Although there is little you can do to prevent your son's father applying for contact should you so choose, such an application is extremely unlikely to be considered as in your son's best interest and would be refused.
