Legal Question in Civil Litigation in United Kingdom
Defence
Need to write a defence to and unsure or the format in which it has to be written. I am being sued for monies borrowed to an ex partner who had this money transferred from his uncles account to mine as is bank account was in debit. The money was supposed to be used to rebuild my house. But my ex partner spent the money on drugs and alchol without my knowledge, The judge has said he could have tricked me out of this money. He is now trying to place a charging order on my property and getting his father to sue me. It is very confusing and i dont think i am being very clear. All i need really is a copy of and actual defence form submitted to a court and i can fill in the blanks. Just really need a formatt and any important words i may need to use. Hope you can help The form has to be in by 4pm Wednesday 4th January 2006. Any help would be grately accepted
Kind Regards

Re: Defence
Sorry to hear about your panic situation. Unfortunate as it may be, there are two things you must accept. The first is that you are clearly in a difficult position and if you are not to have a judgment entered against you (which could indeed lead to a charge against your property) then you are going to have to put in a carefully worded defence. It is the content which is critical rather than the format which is just the icing on the cake. The defence must show a legal basis for you not being liable for the money. The other thing you must accept is that it may not be possible to prepare this by tomorrow, and you may have to ask the court for more time.
My advice here is that you should send a full account of what happened and why you feel you are not liable to repay for a free opinion to the Legal-Zone website without delay. You will received a reply within a few hours and can then decide on your next course of action.
