is it legal to put a dome survelance camera on a private house where it can be turned round and zoomed in on a neighbours property

Dear Friend,
Nothing is illegal, unless until you are caught red-handed infringing and harming the privacy of a neighbour and a Police complaint is lodged against you, why only in the United Kingdom, but for that matter, anywhere in the World
