Legal Question in Civil Litigation in United Kingdom

Ownership of Life Policy

Client arranges a life assurance policy for his mother. Mother is stated as proposer and assured. Client makes all arrangements, pays all premiums himself, gets an agreement signed that on death he would be re-imbursed for all expenses incurred on mothers behalf but does not get anything to cover entitlement to policy proceeds.

Has he any claim to the proceeds at all or do they fall to be divided according to the terms of mothers will?

Re: Ownership of Life Policy

it would sound from what you say that this policy was written in favour of the mother. If this is the case she will be solely entitled to the proceeds of the policy and on her death these will fall into her estate to be distributed in accordance with the terms of her will.
