return of overpaid monies

hi... just a quick q, i had an accident and a compensation claim and i received the money as it was settled 50/50 basis. anyway, 3 months later the solicitor has sent me the money again by accident it seems. i am cashing the cheque but am i obliged to return it by law if they notive they have sent it me twice?

Hi. Unfortunately this would appear to be money paid by accident, and as such you will be legally bound to return it on demand.Sorry
