Legal Question in Civil Litigation in United Kingdom

Romance Fraud

Hi,

I would like to know what legal steps I can take to expose a UK citizen of ''romance'' fraud? This person manipulated, deceived & emotionally abused me. Taking money & items from me under false pretenses. Basically pretending to love & care for me.

I strongly believe he has targeted other foreign women as well. I have tried contacting one such woman, but so far I have not received a reply from her.

I have tried reasoning with him but this has been in vain. He is a pathological liar & is an extreme narcissistic, so he feels he is above me & the law. I have only recently become aware of his lies & psychological problems. If I had known, I never would have become involved with him.

I live in the States & he is in England. So I don't know where or how to begin? Or if I should even try? Any assistance you can offer me I would be most grateful for.

Kind Regards

Re: Romance Fraud

Any legal action which you undertook against this charlatan would necessarily have to be in the U.K for jurisdictional reasons to have any chance of success.

And whether the courts of the U.K recognize any

cause of action which would offer possible recourse for the particular circumstances of your situation is a question for which I do not have an answer, but, if pressed for a surmise, I would rather doubt it.
