There are 2 avenues here. Either you check whether the chlid can have a French passport (and whether by French law it can qualify to be a French national) or, it comes to the UK on its Canadian passport, but using an EEA Family Permit Visa. Then once here it can apply for a residence card as the family member of an EEA national. This route is fairly straightforward, though the French passport would obviously be a lot better.
If your child can't qualify for a French passport, then you can contact us if you would like to discuss it further.
