Legal Question in Immigration Law in United Kingdom
Hi, Im a british national and got married to a girl in pakistan. The marriage fell apart and although she was given a dependants visa she never came to UK. This was 3 years ago. My question is do i need a divorce in uk or will a pakistani divorce be sufficient? I am wanting to remarry another girl but want to ensure i have a legal divorce before i do so

If you married in pakistan and your wife is still residing in Pakistan, providing you would be able to obtain a legal divorce over in Pakistan, then this divorce would be recognised here, providing it is recognised by the legal authorities in Pakistan and done in the correct manner.
Merely obtaining a religious divorce would not be sufficient.
