Legal Question in Immigration Law in United Kingdom
My partner's ex-husband has just 'announced' that he about to leave the UK. Whilst my partner is in the country on a student visa, their 2 youngest childest (ages 11 and 5), who both live with us, are in the country as dependants of their father. My partner won't be in a position to simply up and go back to Zimbabwe to look after their status' immeidately. Would it be possible to request an extension of their visa status of the Home Office for a month or 2, when their schooling/her lextures isn't as much disruptued?

This is a very difficult case and would require further information for an accurate assessment, as well as further legal research, to be absolutely sure of the correct route.
It also depends on whether your partner wants to go back or wants to stay here. If she wants to stay here and keep the children with her, then it may be possible to make an application to the Home Office. It would also depend on the terms of your partner's divorce, in terms of what happens with the children.
This is a complex matter, so, it may be worth giving me a call if you are interested in taking the matter further. I can be easily reached on 07789 294662.
