Legal Question in Immigration Law in United Kingdom
what must i do to qualify to movr to the UK, as a fiancee
1 Answer from Attorneys
In order to enter as a fiancee you will need to apply for a fiancee visa to the UK embassy in your country. This application will need to be supported by various documents showing your future accommodation here in the UK and details regarding your partner here in the UK i.e. their nationality, their job, income, etc.
However, please note that a fiancee visa will only be valid for 6 months. Within those 6 months you are expected to enter the UK and marry your British partner. Before that visa expires, you will then have to apply to the Home Office in the UK for an extension of your visa, on the basis of your marriage.
If however, you were to marry your partner in your own country, you could apply for a spouse visa which would give you 2 years leave to remain in the UK before then applying for settlement.
