hi my name is umarzia. i want to ask u that i have got 6 points on provisional license which i had in 2008 so how long will i have that points for and aslo can i applay for citizenship? thank you!"

Dear Umarzia,

How long your points remain on your licence depends on what you received the points for. If it was a simple speeding offence, they remain on your licence for 4 years.

Whether or not you can apply for citizenship will depend on whether the points you received were awarded by the courts or whether they were handed to you by way of a Fixed Penalty Notice.
