What is an ''En Commandant'' or ''En Commendant'' partnership?

Are you sure it is not "en commandite"? This would resemble a limited partnership in which you would have (at least) one general partner whose liability would be unrestricted and some limited partners who would only be liable for the amounts committed by them.
