Is it a legal requirement to ask for a medical questionaire after offer of employment

Dear Sir / Madam,
More than a legal requirement, it may be the Company's HR policy requirement to insist on the production of a Medical Fitness Certificate from all prospective employees who have been offered a job in the organization.
