Re: verbal agreements

The verbal offer of a job when accepted by you formed a legally binding contract which incorporated as terms the amount which you were to be paid and type of work to be undertaken. It would now appear that the employers have breached this contract and in its place are offering you a contract with different terms. They have no entitlement to do so without your agreement. You would therefore have a legal remedy against them but the difficulty could be that your loss might be minimal. This would be the case if the job offered was not for a specified period and could have been terminated on short notice.
