i have had no contract with my landlord for the last three and a half years have lived here for 4 years he maybe selling the property can you tell me where i stand on this am i classed as a sitting tenant

This does rather depend on the contract you signed with your landlord during the first six months of your tenancy. If you went into occupation under a shorthold agreement it is probable that you will have no security of tenure. However if this is not the case you are in all likelihood a statutory tenant with full security of tenure.
