Legal Question in Legal Ethics in United Kingdom

I won �4.8 million on the UK national lottery in 1995. I claimed my prize but never saw the money. I was given �5000 cash to get started but was so terrified that I put it in the bin! They invited me to the official presentation but I was too scared to go and went home to my flat terrifed and shaking, I never saw the money. I was mentally ill at the time. Have I lost the money or am I still entitled to it as I did claim my prize!
