Legal Question in Real Estate Law in United Kingdom

Contract

The contract of ownership of a property which I own and am the registered owner of has gotten into some else's possession. Under English Law, is my total control of the property affected at all? With this I mean will I be able to sell the property without having possession of the contract?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Contract

Yes. The Title (ie Ownership and the right to sell) to the Property is evidenced by the Official Register, in the case of registerd land, or the Conveyance in the case of unregistered land. The contract does not affect title. If you are the Registered owner or the owner named on the last conveyance you will be able to sell without the contract.
