Hi. The only facts that the van was not fully visible, not properly marked and parked improperly, do not build a good case. However, signage for speed camera site is vital. Look for signs on poles before the site indicating speed camera. There are other loopholes to build a good case. As per Police statistics 33% of speed camera detections do not finally result in a successful fine. I was amazed to find out that sometimes the camera site was not properly approved (there being not enough accidents for fulfilling the criteria); the speed limit was not fixed according to Govt. guidelines; certificates given in evidence were erroneous or contradictory etc. etc. People who challange the notices and try to find legal and technical faults, do win cases.
