Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United Kingdom
my fathers will
my father passed away recently and the last time i saw him he said everything will be shared out between me my elder brother and sister, about 80,000 and life insurance and other policies. two years ago he changed the will and made my brother the Executor, when he read the will out all my mothers jewellery was left to my sister, his was left to my brother and any monies which he had was getting shared out between the two of them, i was told i could have anything, and everything i wanted from his flat, what annoys me is the fact that they have taken most things from the flat for themselves. can you tell me if there is a law which states that i have the right to 10% of any monies left from my fathers will

Re: my fathers will
I am afraid that there is no such law. Your late father's estate will pass to your brother who is appointed executor for distribution in accordance with the will. Although I have not seen this will, if it contains a provision that you have everything in the flat, that will be your legal entitlement enforceable against your brother. If it does not contain any such provision for you, you will unfortunately have no entitlement. The promise made by your brother if that is all it was, is unlikely to be legally enforceable.
