Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United Kingdom

inheritance

I would like to know if i am entitled to a share in my parents estate. My mother died and my father inherited the estate. My father remarried and when he passed away my step mother inherited the estate. My step mother has now passed away meaning her brother has inherited the estate. Am i entitled to a share? thankyou for your time.

Re: inheritance

Oh dear!I have a nasty feeling that you may well have no entitlement although I am sure this was not what your late father intended. You do not mention any Wills and will therefore presume that both your father and stepmother died intestate.

Under the intestacy rules the first 125,000 of his estate would pass to his wife with half of any payments passing to his children. I do not know when he died so it is possible that a different figure applies.

If your stepmother also died intestate, her estate will pass in accordance with the statutory provision laid down in the intestacy rules.unfortunately as you are not categorised as a child of your stepmother the rules provide that her estate will pass to her brother.

This sounds most unfortunate and most unfair. If it would help for us to have a word on the telephone just in case any claim could be possible please let me have a contract number.
