Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United Kingdom
Joint bank account when wills are made
Hello
Iwould like to know that if a person has made a will leaving everything to their wife/husband, but have a joint account in their's and a different person who is not their spouse, would the other person have the right to all the money?
As an example if I was to have a joint account with my child (who is adult) would they be able to keep all the money in the account automatically and ignore the will?

Re: Joint bank account when wills are made
on a person's death, all of the estate and property belonging to that person passes to the executor appointed under the will to administer in accordance with that will. This will include money belonging to the deceased in a joint bank account. With joint bank accounts all the money in the account will usually along to all account holders jointly.
