Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United Kingdom
Next of Kin
If a person is named as next of kin in a deceased's will (even though they are not related to the deceased) because the deceased has no next of kin, if a solicitor is the executor of the will does the next of kin have any rights to see what is in the will or to be informed of what happens to the deceased's effects and assets

Re: Next of Kin
My initial opinion would be there is an entitlement here to the information required, and that an early standing search should be entered at the probate registry.
However I am wary of advising definitively in the matter without further knowledge of the circumstances surrounding this problem. May I suggest that you get in touch with us in order that we might arrange a free of charge consultation with a probate consultant.
