if im still married but separated (not officially) but we live in separate houses and I own the house myself and kids live in, solely and he owns his solely and I have drawn up a will stating that my house and life policy goes equally to each of the kids and not my ex will this happen?

You are still married and having a wife, she will have a claim on your estate in the event of your death. It is irrelevant that you are seperated.
