power of attorney

my sister and i where made power of attorney of my aunties estate 2005.all legal procedings where done through a solicitors.since then my auntie has had go in to a nursing home .solicitor has advised us to register the power of attorney with the court.costing money.i was under the inpression that i had already done this in may 2005.if so can i register personly at the court, thank you

It would seem that in 2005 your aunt granted you an enduring power of attorney. This will not come into effect until such time as your aunt loses her mental faculties and is unable to deal with her affairs.I presume that that time has now come and if so the enduring power of attorney must be registered.
