a relative has just died i am the excutorv of the will do i require solictors to
deal with his estate or can i do it myself

Hello and thank you for your question,
You may execute it yourself as long as there are no complications as to title of property being divided, etcetera.
I would advise you to take an acknowledgement in writing for any money or movables given out, so later none of the heirs can accuse you of not giving them their inheritance or not carrying out the orders of the will accurately.
