Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United Kingdom

Reversionary interest sale

I sold my reversionary interest in a trust in 1990, the life tenant died in 1993 and the trust was distributed with my share going to the purchasers. Further funds have now been received from another trust of which neither I nor the trustees had any knowledge . These funds were not included in the sale . Should I be entitled to my share under the trust ? Also the trustees have allocated a portion iof these funds to the estate of the life tenant , is this correct?. At the time the original will was written the testator had no knowledge of the reversionary interest which generated these funds as the trust concerned did not exist at tht date.

Re: Reversionary interest sale

it would certainly appear a that you could well have an interest in these further funds. However it is quite impossible for me to advise conclusively without a fuller history of the matter and sight of relevant documents.

we would be quite prepared to advise without charge by telephone or videoconference on the way forward. Please let we have a contact number and convenient time to call.
