Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United Kingdom

where do I stand?

my husband and I were divorced but met up again and started a relationship again, a few months later he took ill and was diagnosed with throat cancer, I nursed him through his illness and in the year that followed we decided we would remarry when he got better after his treatment, unfortunately the cancer spread and he died, he made provision in his will for his estranged daughter, but now she is contesting will and saying we were divorced so she should get everything, is this right?

Hi

I have a very nasty suspicion that whatever the right and the wrongs of this matter, your late partner's daughter is correct. What you should seriously consider however is making an application for fianacial provision from his estate under the Inheritance(Provision for Family and Dependants) Act.

If you care to get in touch directly I can send you further information.
