an uncle leaves some money to a brother but it takes a long time to sort out the will, in the meantime the brother dies does the money go to the brothers wife or children.

The gift to the brother takes effect immediately on the uncle's death. This is therefore money to which the brother is entitled and will form part of his estate on his death. It will therefore pass in accordance with his will or his intestacy.
