Legal Question in Administrative Law in Utah
Private files posted to Internet
I created Family genealogy files and stored them in a family webpage which is password protected. A non-family member had been invited to view the page by one of the family members. This person, downloaded my private files, and then posted them on the open Internet. What took me years to build, and research has now been made available without my knowledge, or concent. Do I have legal rights here, and if so, what steps do I take?
I appreciate you time, thank you.

Re: Private files posted to Internet
You can go to court and get an injunction against the person who wrongfully posted your information. The injunction will bar them from use of your materials and provide additional remedies if they do not remove them.
In the future you should copyright your work, which provides additional protections. Go to www.uspto.gov for additional info.
