Legal Question in Banking Law in Utah
Automatic fund withdrawl
I have a credit card with my bank, and right now I live in Japan (Military) and I'm deployed to Iraq. my credit card payment is 1 month behind and my bank has automatically withdrew the overdue payment with out my permission. they have done this twice now. the first time it caused overdrafts for checks, this time it will cause that again. Is this legal for them to do? Do I have any options other than getting a new bank? getting a new bank right now would be extremly hard givin Im deployed. Thank you and I hope you can help.

Re: Automatic fund withdrawl
They can do this, however, you should notify them that you are on active duty, which gives you some special protections when you are in credit delinquency.
