Legal Question in Banking Law in Utah
bank institution laws on check cashing
My bank cashed the biggest check first ($1900 check) and returned all of the other checks. (My account was only approx. $60.00 short of being able to cash all of the checks.) The charged be a few hundred dollars in fees which bounced other checks. They also took some funds from my credit card account to cover some checks. In return I had to pay nsf fees, and I am still paying interest on the funds they took from my credit card. Is this legal?

Re: bank institution laws on check cashing
It depends on the written agreements you had with the bank. An attorney would probably have to review the documents.
