house payments

if house payment was behind say 3 payments and one payment was sent to the bank but yet sent back demanding the other whole payment. is it legal to deny the payment or would they have to accept the payment in good faith and is it legal?

It depends on the language of the Note with the lender. Sometimes a lender is not obligated to accept a single payment. Talk to the lender and see if you can work out something. There are a lot of foreclosures, and many lenders are willing to work out something.
