Laws to help provide relief for hardship
Are there any 'hardship' laws that would help a person be able work with the lender to help them start again and ''work out'' their mortgage if they had 2 severe hardships occur, such as medical issues and being attacked (ie;rape)

There are no laws that require a lender to accommodate a debtor beyond the terms of the loan. Your only power is to negotiate with the lender either yourself of through an attorney or third party.
OR you can file bankruptcy.
