Legal Question in Banking Law in Utah
I have a prepaid visa card. I have direct deposit. I got my paycheck as well as my tax refund and they froze my account. I haven't been able to access my money. We lost our car and couldn't pay our phone. We can't even buy diapers for our children. The people through customer service tell us they can't help us and when we get transferred we never get anybody. We either sit on hold for hours or get voice-mail. Is it legal for them to freeze my account and not notify or speak with us? Is there anything we can do? It's been 5 days (3 business days) since the deposit went through.

They should advise you of the reason your account is frozen. Go to the bank and talk with an officer.
