Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Utah
Is it possible to get a car after filing Chapter 13?
My husband and I declared Chapter 13 last year and at the time were leasing two vehicles. We assumed one lease and rejected the other. We have been with one car since that time and are in desperate need of another. Is it possible to get a car after filing Chapter 13? If so, what steps do I need to take if any?

You must contact the Chapter 13 trustee
You cannot borrow money after filing Chapter 13 without the permission of the trustee. The reason for this is obvious in that money diverted from the plan to a new creditor will damage the others. It may be that your plan has enough room to accomodate this need - contact the chapter 13 trustee.
