Company bankuptcy
Is there a time frame to file bankuptcy for a company that has stoped doing business under a name? Ie i had a contractor not finish a job on my house, i now have a lein on my house from one of the sub's i would like to nigotiate and settle the case with the sub.
Is there a way i can find out if the contractor is or can file bankruptcy?

You can pay the sub and deduct that amount from what you owe the contractor. You can call the US Bankruptcy court for information on filers.
