Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Utah

divorce/credit card

i am an authorized user on husband credit ard, yes I have charged on it. trying to get divorced after filing Chapter 13 BK together in Utah and having it dismissed as I could not make the payments. that was (i think) February 2005 it was dismissed. I am trying to jsut get him to sign divorce papaers accepting that debt as his own and he refuses. As just an authorized user, even though we were married am I legally bound to be obligated to pay that debt back with him? Or is my only option to file BK again, and CAN I this soon with new laws? P.S. I just purchashed a home in May 2006, could I lose it or reaffirm?

Re: divorce/credit card

If you are an authorized used but did not sign on the account you are not liable, unless you agree to be liable. Check you credit report to see if that account is reported in your name, and to be certain, contact the credit card company to see if you are personally liable. The determination of whether you can file again depends on your specific circumstances.
