Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Utah
What is the lookback period for the state of Utah? I ask this question in reference to a vehicle. I owed a large debt to my parents and about 6 months ago, I gave them my vehicle to pay off my debt with them. Will this be seen by the bankruptcy trustee and/or will they take the vehicle back from my parents?

There is a 2 year look back for an insider transaction. If the debt with your parents was secured by the vehicle and the vehicle is worth not much more than was owed, they can keep the car. If the debt was not secured, they will probably have to return the vehicle. However, you may be able to negotiate a deal with the Trustee so your parents can keep the car, but you would make payments to the court.
