If i file chapter 7 will this affect my ability to rent a house?

If the landlord checks your credit it may affect their decision. However, generally you will still be able to rent, although it may be a little more difficult.

It will be more difficult to rent a house because a bankruptcy will be reported on your credit report. However, I really believe many owners who rent houses will work with you. In fact, some owners may not even pull a credit report. I think enough people have been through hard times that you can definitely find someone who will relate to your situation.
