transfering of property if i am filing bankruptcy

imy name sis on the registration of a boat. it is also in my husbands name i need to file bankruptcy can i transfer ownership of the boat to him Should we get a divorce? how long do i have to wait to file after transfer of property?

You can sell or transfer your interest in the boat, but it has to be done a year or more before you file. You should consult with a bankruptcy attorney. You may have other options.
