Legal Question in Business Law in Utah
compinsation for information
I have a former business partner who is preparing to sue a company. If I inform this company of this pending lawsuit, there will most likely be a simple process to avoid this lawsuit (if taken care of in time). If I divulge this iformation to the company at risk, is it possible for me to be compinsated for the valuable information that I have given them.

Re: compinsation for information
Whether or not the company is willing to compensate you is up to them. If you have a duty to protect your former partner, you may need to take steps to make sure you are not violating that duty.
