Legal Question in Business Law in Utah

Deceptive Advertising

West Ridge Academy Residential Treatment Center advertises treatment for ADD/ADHD, Bi Polar, Behavioral Problems, etc. When admitting my stepson, the staff of West Ridge assured me that they treat learning disabilities associated with ADHD and behavioral problems. They also stated the same to my stepson's mother. We admitted him. The boy was not getting any school help. When we asked why, they said they do not treat learning disabilities, when on their website this is clearly stated. Upon hearing this, we took our son out on April 3, 2006. Now West Ridge is demanding payment for a month our son was not there, and they did the ''bait and switch,'' to get us to enroll our son. What does the law say about this?

Re: Deceptive Advertising

Save copies of their web pages on your computer. Review any writings you may have signed with the school. Tell them you are not going to pay and if they press you, you will sue them for deceptive business practices for your money to be returned. Their practices are called fraud, and are illegal.
