Legal Question in Business Law in Utah

HI,

My husband and I have bought $1000 worth of t-shirt, blankets from a wholesaler to resell. There is no "No Refund" sign shown at the warehouse and the seller never informed us about refund & exchange rules. We paid them and tried to resell everything. Unfortunately, we just had no luck selling them at all. We tried so hard and they know that we did try. Finally we decided to return all the merchandises. All of them are in perfect condition, in fact, some of them have never been on the shelves even! But the wholesaler refused to pay us back and said we have no right to return anything to any wholesaler!

The value of the returned merchandises is about $800 but they only offered to pay us back $200! What should we do? We really can't sell them and now we're not going to get our money back! Help please!

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do. You bought them. Ostensibly from what you wrote they conformed to their specification. Businesses are under no obligation to take back product just because you don't want it anymore. Even then, they probably don't have to take it back, just repair or replace it.

Some lessons are more expensive than other. Chalk this up to a $600 learning experience.
